Remove Stubborn Grease from Your House

Many people spend more time in the kitchen than ever before. Perhaps you have always been passionate about cooking, or you just discovered a new hobby. We all hate the inevitable side effect of home cooking, grease. Grease is one of the hardest soils to get rid of.

Warm water and dish soap make an excellent team to tackle grease and all other soils in your house. Every kitchen cleaning begins with a bucket of soap and warm water. This bucket is used to clean the grease using a strong but soft microfiber scrubbing pad. Apart from the fact that soap and water work well, they can also be safely used on many surfaces without any discoloration or damage by spray cleaners (yes, even green). 

Following are some of the steps you can take to stop or treat grease in your house.

After each use, wipe down the stovetop. Yes. Every time. This is your best option for fighting grease. This is a great way to make sure grease doesn't build up after meals.

Dish soap is a great way to remove grease. Soap is designed to remove grease from dishes. It can also be used on the stovetop and microwave.

Citrus oils can help to break down grease. Orange essential oils can be added to dish soap. This will make it smell wonderful and also makes cleaning easier.

Recent grease spillages can be cleaned by sprinkling flour on the area. This might seem counterintuitive. Will it not make the mess worse? It is possible, but it will make the mess easier to see and wipe up.

Baking soda and water are two ways to remove grease from pots. Baking soda is an alkali, which can effectively break down grease. After using, heat a pan with water and baking soda. Grease cleanup will be much easier after the grease has soaked.

To remove grease from fabrics, use salt and rubbing alcohol. This is particularly useful for fabrics that are difficult to wash (rugs, couches etc.). Combine four parts rubbing alcohol with one part salt. To scrub the stain, use a clean cloth. It will take a lot of effort to scrub the stain. Once the stain has been removed, allow the area to dry and vacuum up any remaining salt.
